Nightharbor is a self-help wellness app built with privacy first: no accounts, no sign-in, and your data lives on your device. The one exception is the AI companion, which (only with your consent) sends your messages and recent journal entries to generate replies, as described below.
What stays on your device
Your journal entries, SOS logs, settings, theme selections, and chat history are stored only on your iPhone. We have no servers that store them. Deleting the app (or using "Erase all my data" in Settings) removes them. The one time some of this data leaves your phone is when you use the AI companion, described next.
What leaves your device
When you message the AI companion, your recent conversation is sent over an encrypted connection to our relay server, where the response is generated by the Kimi model (by Moonshot AI) running on Cloudflare's Workers AI infrastructure (a third-party AI service). So the companion can understand you and stay continuous, the app also sends your selected themes, your progress stats (such as resist counts), and the text of your recent journal entries along with your messages. You are asked for consent before this feature is enabled, and you can turn it off at any time. We do not attach your name, email, or any account identity. The only identifier sent is a random per-install ID used to limit request volume; it is not linked to you and resets if you erase your data.
We do not store your conversations or journal entries on our servers. Cloudflare processes the data to generate responses subject to its Workers AI data-handling terms.
Bug reports and crash data
If you choose to send a bug report, we receive your description, the optional screenshot you attach, and basic context (app version, device model, iOS version, language, Pro status, the screen you were on, and the same random install ID). This is stored on our infrastructure (Cloudflare) solely to investigate and fix problems. The app may also send anonymous crash diagnostics (via Sentry): stack traces and device information only, never journal entries or chat content.
Purchases
Subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status; it receives Apple's purchase receipt data tied to a random app-user ID, not your identity.
What we never do
No ads, no advertising or behavioral trackers, no selling or sharing of personal data, ever. The only diagnostics we collect are the crash reports and bug reports described above, and they are never linked to your identity.
Your choices
You can disable the AI companion at any time in Settings, and erase all app data with one tap. App Store subscription management and refunds are handled by Apple.
